How Often Should You Change Flower Water?

Change vase water every one to two days, or immediately if it looks cloudy or smells. Bacteria block stems and are the main reason mixed bunches collapse early.

  1. Lift the bunch, empty the vase, and wash it with hot water.
  2. Recut stems before they go back in.
  3. Refill with fresh water; add flower food if you still have it.

Thirsty flowers such as hydrangeas and sunflowers may need a top-up between full changes.
