How to Care for Cut Hydrangeas

Cut hydrangeas fail from poor water uptake more than from 'being finished'. Recut and give them a deep, clean drink.

1. Recut stems and place in deep water immediately.
2. If limp, recut again and leave in a cool room.
3. Keep away from heat vents and direct sun.

A florist stem will not change colour in the vase the way a garden shrub can in different soil.
